| Top Rebates AKA webrebates is an online incentive marketing platform that rewards loyal members with incentives based on the customers' online activity. Incentives are in the form of online rebates (web rebates) that accrue in your account and then you receive a check on a quarterly basis. This software is also known as "Autotrack by TopRebates". |
How Do I Know If I Have Top Rebates Installed?
The Top Rebates software resides fairly silently on your system without any icon in the System Tray or toolbar in your browser. However, you may notice popups like the one below or a general system slowdown caused by the software.
If you run Hijackthis, you'll also notice the following lines that have been added:

Files\Web_Rebates\WebRebates0.exe"
O4 - HKLM\..\Run: [WebRebates1] "C:\Program
Files\Web_Rebates\WebRebates1.exe"
O8 - Extra context menu item: Web Rebates - file://C:\Program
Files\Web_Rebates\Sy1150\Tp1150\scri1150a.htm
How Do I RemoveTop Rebates (webrebates)?
First, uninstall the Top Rebates program from Add/Remove Programs
1) Click on Start, Settings, Control Panel
2) Double click on Add/Remove Programs
3) Find "WebRebates (by TopRebates.com)" in the list of installed programs and click on Change/Remove to uninstall it.
4) After rebooting the computer, run HijackThis and remove any of the leftover lines shown above.
5) Lastly, search your computer for the following file that may linger on your system and delete it.
c:\temp\webrebates_cdt_installsilent.exe
8) Top Rebates or webrebates should now be completely uninstalled from your computer.
